Parish Ministries

From the Pastor

Dear Parishioners,

St. Vincent de Paul Parish has the privilege of serving more than one hundred and fifty square miles in Hamilton Township, Estelle Manor, Dorothy and Weymounth Township. We have a deep, rich history that spans over a century. We have been blessed many times over and celebrate to this day the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On December 10, 2011 we dedicated the new church. Bishop Galante and myself presided over the dedication Mass to an overflowing crowd. The appointments in our new church show off the simplicity yet elegance of artwork that is beginning to fill our building.

Upon entering the foyer, we are greeted by the beautiful statue of St. Vincent de Paul with the children, orphan's, homeless, and sick as he exudes the power of kindness and compassion. The Holy Family in the front shows a character of family values in the kind faces of the special family unit. The Stations of the Cross around the side walls tell a profound story of the Passion-come-to- life in a bronze finish. And the sanctuary shows the many shades of wood that warm our worship space as the crucifix from the school hall brings the wall of stone and tile to life as it overshadows the old tabernacle from the church basement covered by marble from the old side altars.

The Baptismal font has been refinished and it stands proudly in front of the wall hanging of the Baptism of Jesus. The chapel which is appointed with marble from the old church, seats us comfortably in the mornings as we begin the day with celebration. Our parish offices and meeting rooms and food pantry are located at the other end of the building which give much needed room for our many ministries. Your support is very important to this parish; and your time, talent and treasure allow us to offer the many programs that help guide us in the ways of our faith.

We will continue to Build Our Vision for The Future with a larger community. This is a challenge for all of us, to strengthen the faith of the future, to give our children a better understanding of the faith we profess and to share the hospitality the Gospel offers us. I believe that our community will flourish and become that dynamic, vibrant, alive community of which the Bishop speaks. Let us throw out our nets and pick up our cross and follow Him.

I thank you for your prayers and support during this exciting and changing time in our lives. God bless each of you and your families.
